Overview In this Pipe Layer role you install water, sewer, and drainage pipes with precision following project plans. You will work closely with the pipe crew to ensure accurate alignment, bedding, and backfill while upholding strict safety standards. The position supports trenching, material handling, and quality control to keep projects on track. You'll communicate progress and challenges to the crew and foreman, contributing to safe, efficient execution on diverse sites. This role offers hands-on impact in delivering reliable underground utilities.
Responsibilities- Pipe installation according to plans and design specifications with proper alignment and grade
- Maintain safety by following procedures and regulatory guidelines
- Assist in trenching and excavation tasks as needed
- Handle pipes, materials, and equipment safely and position them for installation
- Ensure installation quality meets standards including bedding and backfilling
- Collaborate with the pipe crew, foreman, and teammates to coordinate activities
- Communicate progress, challenges, and issues with team and supervisors
- Identify and address operational challenges during pipe laying and related tasks
- Assist in maintenance and care of tools and equipment used for installation
Key requirements- Proven experience as a Pipe Layer in the construction industry
- Proficiency in pipe installation techniques, including bedding and backfilling
- Knowledge of construction plans, blueprints, and underground utility procedures
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at different job sites
