Overview Join RSM as part of the Credits, Incentives and Methods - Energy and Excise team to advise clients on federal energy credits and related excise tax issues, including Inflation Reduction Act implementation. You will lead project work, supervise teams, and manage client relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery. You will develop deep technical expertise and help grow advisory services for clean energy projects. This role offers involvement in high-impact matters, including controversy support and strategic planning for priority clients.

Responsibilities- Manage a collaborative team advising clients on federal energy credits and excise tax
- Develop industry and technical expertise in energy credits and excise tax
- Directly consult with clients and engagement teams
- Serve as in-charge on projects; oversee day-to-day tasks and coordinate with staff
- Review credits computations, workpapers, tax opinions, and supporting materials; manage client relationships
- Address credit utilization issues and related limitations and risk
- Perform technical review of forms for correctness and exposure
- Identify planning opportunities by reviewing client/prospect information
- Initiate client service planning meetings and contribute to plans for priority clients
- Analyze audit risk on materiality issues and discuss solutions with clients and partners
- Support controversy matters with taxing authorities
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; advanced Excel features as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Active CPA in state of residence or primary office, or EA license, or Attorney license, or pre-approved alternative certification
- Minimum five years of tax experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to meet client service, quality, and deadline expectations
- Effective communication, professional presence with clients and firm personnel
- Proven project management skills in a fast-paced client service environment
- Willingness to travel and maintain onsite presence as required
