Overview

As Director of Plant Management, you lead multiple manufacturing and support functions to deliver reliable, cost-effective production at scale. You will shape strategic direction with senior peers, drive budgeting and performance metrics, and steward cross-functional initiatives across sites. By optimizing processes and resources, you impact quality, on-time delivery, and profitability. This role offers high visibility and the chance to influence manufacturing excellence in a global context.

Responsibilities
  • Direct activities across manufacturing and support functions (purchasing, planning, order fulfillment, production, distribution, facilities, asset management)
  • Select and develop staff, set objectives, review performance, and approve compensation
  • Establish and monitor strategic processes to improve production and support functions
  • Plan and control performance via general direction and prioritization
  • Develop and review departmental metrics and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage departmental budgets and monitor costs and resources
  • Lead strategic planning objectives and communicate them to teams
  • Interface with other departments and customers to optimize processes and quotes
  • Coordinate introduction of new product lines and customer-specific processes
  • Collaborate with design teams on yields, supplier issues, and testing
  • Participate in world-wide teams to implement global initiatives and improve manufacturing
  • Participate in site management team to set strategic direction
  • Maintain P&L accountability and ensure cross-site objectives are met
  • Mentor and motivate a diverse workforce in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Key requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing departments and impact on customer satisfaction, quality, delivery, and profitability
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-resolution skills
  • Ability to set manufacturing goals and coordinate resources to meet metrics
  • Strong prioritization and problem-solving for timely completion
  • Effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven leadership, training, and motivational skills for high performance
  • Experience with World Class Manufacturing/Lean implementations
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives
