Overview In this role you will act as a trusted strategic advisor to business leaders and lead enterprise-wide HR initiatives. You will guide talent, culture, leadership development, and Learning & Development programs across the organization, while delivering hands-on HR partnership to corporate functions. Reporting to the CHRO, you'll collaborate with HR Shared Services and other leaders to drive impactful people strategies and mentor a team of HR and L&D professionals. You will play a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive work culture and advancing AI-enabled learning programs. Responsibilities- Drive strategy and execution for enterprise-wide HR initiatives (employee engagement survey, goal setting, performance reviews, succession planning, and other key initiatives)
- Own and drive enterprise-wide people programs (culture, women's diversity, intern, emerging professional and manager-related programs)
- Partner with the L&D team to own and drive the L&D function, including LMS and an AI adoption/training program
- Provide leadership and coaching for a team of HR professionals including the L&D leader, an HRBP and a talent programs manager
- Provide day-to-day HR support for corporate shared services departments, partnering with leaders and executives on programs, employee relations, and culture stewardship
- Collaborate with other HR Directors on enterprise initiatives, HRBP coaching, alignment and development
- Serve as a key leader on the Hilltop Holdings HR team, offering guidance and influence to executives
- Provide expert consultation in talent management, engagement, performance management, employee relations and strategic workforce planning
- Partner with HR Shared Services to plan and implement HR strategies aligning with business needs
- Ensure HR practices comply with federal and state laws and guidelines
- Manage employee relations and investigations, recommending resolutions as needed
- Support the CHRO and act as a trusted partner for HR leadership
Key requirements- 10+ years of professional HR or organizational development experience
- Bachelor in HR or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Industry accreditations such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred
- Experience in Financial Services (banking, broker-dealer, mortgage) strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and practices across Employee Relations, Staffing, and Compensation
- Ability to provide strategic consulting to senior leaders and influence at executive level
- Conflict resolution, negotiation, and investigation skills
- Analytical ability to research and analyze HR initiatives and topics
- Excellent verbal/written interpersonal communication; ability to present to C-level executives
- Advanced computer skills with MS Office; experience with HRIS, LMS and compensation systems
- Time management, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and accountability
