Customs Specialist

You act as a trusted customs expert, handling complex exceptions and government inspections to deliver reliable service and operational excellence. You'll support accurate clearance, drive continuous improvement, and help optimize automated customs processes. • Review and validate customs entry data for accuracy, compliance, and timely clearance
• Resolve complex customs exceptions (documentation gaps, classification issues, valuation discrepancies, regulatory concerns)
• Manage government agency holds and examinations (CBP, FDA, CPSC, VACIS, CET, Tailgate)
• Interpret regulations and apply them to daily operations and automated processes
• Prioritize critical shipment issues to prevent delays and maintain service
• Coordinate with brokers, transport providers, and internal teams for seamless import clearance
• Maintain customer-specific SOPs, HTS databases, and compliance requirements
• Investigate and resolve cargo damage, insurance, demurrage, detention disputes
• Conduct quality reviews of customs entries and automated decisions
• Drive continuous improvement through workflow enhancements and automation initiatives

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of entry-writing experience, international transportation or experience with AI Agents

• Familiarity with ABI or AMS queries
• Microsoft Office proficiency
