Overview In this role you will develop high-performance electronic controls and virtual sensor algorithms for engines, powertrains, and power systems. You will translate customer needs into functional control strategies and diagnostics, aiming to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability. You will work across cross-functional teams to ensure controls solutions integrate with the broader system and contribute to ongoing process and tool improvements. This position offers hands-on calibration, validation, and lifecycle support with a strong focus on data-driven problem solving and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities- Develop high-performance control systems and calibrations for engines and power systems
- Translate requirements into functional control strategies and diagnostics
- Improve product quality by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Support full controls development lifecycle: specification, modeling, simulation, calibration, testing, verification, maintenance
- Enhance diagnostics by developing algorithms to detect faults and aid troubleshooting
- Drive continuous improvement in controls methods, simulation, calibration, and validation
- Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, testing, and product teams for integrated solutions
- Demonstrate ownership by driving projects, coordinating tests, and guiding team members
Key requirements- Master's degree in a related engineering field
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Controls Engineering
- Experience with test cell, vehicle, and bench testing, plus HIL and SIL testing
- Knowledge of basic machine learning models and data analysis techniques
- Knowledge of internal combustion engines and their operation
- GT-POWER engine simulations experience preferred
