Senior Engineer, High Voltage Power Systems

Overview

In this Senior Engineer role, you will design and specify high-voltage cable and power systems for large infrastructure projects. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from design and specifications to manufacturing, installation, testing, and field support. You partner with customers, project managers, and field teams to meet technical and performance requirements while addressing field issues. This opportunity lets you influence system designs and installation methods in a growing power infrastructure market.

Responsibilities
  • Design and specify HV cable and power systems based on project requirements
  • Perform electrical calculations and evaluate designs, components, materials, and installation needs
  • Develop technical specifications and guide design through execution
  • Support projects from design through manufacturing, testing, and commissioning
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, field techs, contractors, and suppliers to meet technical requirements
  • Provide engineering support during field installations and commissioning, including troubleshooting
  • Assess field conditions and make engineering decisions during installation
  • Support testing and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with codes and standards
  • Interface with customers to capture requirements, answer questions, and resolve issues
  • Analyze system performance to identify improvement opportunities and optimize methods
  • Collaborate with engineers to solve complex electrical and system-level problems
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with significant power systems experience
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience with power transmission, distribution, substations, medium/high-voltage systems, or related electrical infrastructure
  • Experience performing electrical calculations and developing technical specifications
  • Field experience supporting installation, commissioning, startup, testing, or troubleshooting
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and make timely field decisions
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and engineering practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
