Electrical Engineer Manager

Overview

In this role you will own and drive a high-visibility, space-grade electronics development program within Textron Systems' Weapon Systems. You lead a team of electrical engineers, overseeing design, verification, and integration to deliver space-qualified hardware for demanding environments. You will coordinate across systems engineering and cross-functional partners, manage schedules and budgets, and support customer engagements and critical design reviews. This is a hands-on leadership role that shapes product direction and engineering processes for mission-critical defense programs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end technical execution of a major electronic development effort
  • Mentor and develop a team of Electrical Engineers
  • Oversee design, analysis, prototyping, integration, and test of space-qualified electronics
  • Ensure hardware integrity through verification and qualification
  • Own engineering schedules, resource planning, and milestone execution
  • Coordinate with Cognizant Engineers, systems engineering, and cross-functional partners
  • Manage project budgets and performance (EVMS/CAM)
  • Drive engineering process improvements to improve quality, speed, and robustness
  • Support customer engagements, technical presentations, and major design reviews
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or project lead role
  • Strong background in electronic system development; space-grade or high-reliability hardware experience is a plus
  • Proven leadership, communication, and decision making skills
  • Experience with cost account management and budget oversight
  • Expertise in design fundamentals, PCB development, and test methodologies
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating across diverse teams
  • Active U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
