Overview In this role you will lead data stewardship across HDR's Building Engineering Services (BES) to ensure consistent data definitions and reusable datasets. You'll coordinate SMEs, define standards, and guide data-driven decisions that improve project delivery and analytics. You will drive alignment, enable data reuse, and support scalable AI and automation across BES. This is a leadership, cross-functional role focused on shaping how data is defined, shared, and used to enable better outcomes. Responsibilities- Establish and coordinate a network of SME experts to define technical standards aligned with BES data practices and enterprise expectations.
- Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions that support structured data models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
- Build consensus on data processes, priority, and expected use through your technical network.
- Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data including access, quality, format, and reuse.
- Govern externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory awareness, storage, lifecycle).
- Promote data fluency across the BES Business Group.
- Align data workflows and initiatives with BES BG strategy in collaboration with leadership.
- Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards, practices, and tools across BES BG.
- Communicate and collaborate with other Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
- Ensure new tools for BES BG are aligned to the data strategy.
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- A minimum of 10 years in Architecture Engineering industry
- Experience in development and management of diverse teams
- Ability to work with other leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers
