Responsibilities- Lead airfield construction programs (runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage, lighting, signage) with end-to-end management from scope to closeout
- Serve as primary liaison among AECOM, airport clients, contractors, and regulators during construction
- Manage construction phasing and sequencing to protect continuous airport operations; coordinate with operations, planning, security, and airlines
- Oversee contractor performance, safety compliance, and alignment with contract documents and airport constraints
- Review and adjust baseline schedules, phasing, and look-ahead plans to protect milestones and minimize operational impact
- Lead constructability reviews focusing on staging, access, safety, and operational continuity
- Identify, resolve construction issues, change orders, and claims to maintain momentum and minimize client exposure
- Direct inspection, testing, and QA to ensure FAA and project standards compliance
- Support project controls including cost tracking, forecasting, progress payments, and reporting
- Mentor project staff including construction managers and inspectors
- Ensure compliance with FAA requirements, SMS, environmental and labor regulations
Key requirements- BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency including 2 years of leadership
- Senior-level experience managing airfield construction programs at commercial service airports
- Progressive aviation construction project management experience in active airport environments
- Proven project or construction management on complex, multi-stakeholder aviation projects
- Experience with runway, taxiway, and apron construction phasing in operational airfields
- Strong understanding of FAA airfield construction standards and airport operational requirements
- Experience managing contractor claims, change management, and schedule recovery
- CCM, PMP, or similar professional certification
- Experience with large airport capital improvement programs
