Overview

In this Metrology Engineer role, you will support Global NPD and metrology labs with standard measurement platforms, GD&T application, and measurement strategy development. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to ensure conformance to specifications and lead technical metrology expertise. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge measurement tech and hands-on lab programs, influencing product quality and manufacturing efficiency. You will help design fixtures and driving repeatable measurement processes in a fast-paced, disruptive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a global team on standard measurement platforms and processes
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure GD&T accuracy and design intent
  • Support Engineering New Product Development in Metrology through measurements and feedback
  • Review conformance to specifications with cross-functional teams and evaluate supplier measurement risks
  • Document and edit metrology lab programs (CALYPSO, Polyworks, PC-DMIS) and serve as technical expert
  • Develop turnkey inspection strategies to meet business needs
  • Design holding fixtures and gauges to minimize measurement error
  • Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes for accurate, repeatable strategies
  • Interpret drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to identify inspection requirements
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across Milwaukee Tool
Key requirements
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in new product design or manufacturing of mechanical components with measurement knowledge
  • CAD experience with NX or SolidWorks
  • GD&T per ASME Y14.5 - 3 years minimum
  • Experience with measurement equipment (CMMs, vision systems, 3D scanning)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams, management and external suppliers
  • Experience in programming inspections, gage and fixture design
  • Spanish, Mandarin or Vietnamese language capabilities encouraged
  • Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple tasks
