Industrial Engineer

As an Industrial Engineer at Armtec, you will design and optimize production layouts and processes to boost productivity and reduce waste. You'll document workflows and takt-driven configurations to systematize learning across production. Safety is paramount when handling energetic materials, while we pursue a pull-based lean production approach to improve efficiency and safety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and support mission-critical defense programs.

• Track and analyze production data to identify waste, downtime, and cost reduction opportunities
• Design pull-system process flows and takt-driven layouts using Lean principles
• Develop standard work sequences, maps, and load charts for operators
• Create job aids, fixtures, and workstations to improve cycles
• Lead improvement projects and kaizen events to achieve goals
• Train staff on new processes and provide manuals and instructions
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to optimize operator workflows
• Improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs
• Stay informed on new technologies, materials, and equipment and assess applications
• Adhere to Armtec ethics and business conduct policies

• 5+ years applying Lean production methodologies (pull systems, kanbans) to smooth flow and meet takt
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking
• Ability to collect and analyze production data to identify trends
• Prefer experience with statistical analysis and Six-Sigma Green Belt or better
• Creativity with rapid prototyping/design-test cycles for continuous learning
• Documentation and organization skills
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment
• Dependable, responsible, detail-oriented, and people skills
• Prefer experience with energetics processing and DoD safety requirements
• Minimum 4-year degree in industrial engineering or related field and 5+ years in lean manufacturing
