Overview

In this role you will design, program, and implement industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment, focusing on PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and electrical controls. You will lead projects from concept to startup, collaborate across operations and vendors, and drive improvements to reliability and efficiency. The position supports automation standardization and plant performance, enabling continuous optimization across facilities. This role offers hands-on engagement in a manufacturing environment with meaningful impact on production and uptime.

Responsibilities
  • Design, program, and implement industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs using platforms such as Allen Bradley and Siemens
  • Troubleshoot controls-related issues impacting plant operations and equipment performance
  • Lead automation improvement initiatives to boost reliability and production efficiency
  • Support integration of new equipment into existing control systems
  • Create electrical schematics, control narratives, and technical documentation
  • Advance standardization of control architectures across facilities
  • Lead engineering projects from concept through commissioning and startup
  • Define scope, requirements, budgets, and schedules for projects
  • Coordinate with vendors, operations, and maintenance
  • Manage installation, startup, and validation of new systems
  • Track progress and report to engineering and plant leadership
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment issues
  • Analyze performance to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support process optimization initiatives and adoption of new technologies
  • Collaborate with plant leadership on operational excellence initiatives
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3-8 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems
  • Experience supporting plant operations or process automation
  • Project engineering or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA, industrial networking, and electrical controls design preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
  • Hands-on engineering mindset in plant environments
  • Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • PLC programming with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, RSView32, FactoryTalk View, RSNetworx
  • HMI/SCADA systems
  • Industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
