Auditor I-III (Statewide)

In this role you will conduct on-site and desk reviews of programs and contractors to assess compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. You will work within the FDCM / Subrecipient Monitoring team to monitor fiscal management and program performance, identifying risks and areas for improvement. You help ensure accurate case documentation, proper internal controls, and conformance with grant rules, while preparing clear findings and recommendations. • Review and interpret federal and state regulations and Texas Administrative Code requirements
• Conduct on-site and desk reviews of contractors for compliance
• Monitor fiscal management systems and program performance for compliance
• Verify program eligibility and service delivery against requirements
• Examine accounting records for allowability and reasonableness of expenses
• Review contractor procurement, vendor contracts, and client files for conformance
• Prepare work papers, identify findings of non-compliance, and make improvement recommendations
• Assess internal controls of contractor organizations
• Analyze program and fiscal data to identify risks
• Research legal, technical or policy issues as needed
• Prepare correspondence and documentation; may testify in proceedings
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Auditor I: 1 year of relevant full-time experience in accounting, program financial performance, IT auditing, MIS analysis, or contract monitoring; relevant academic credits may apply
• Auditor II: 2 years of relevant full-time experience; same fields as Auditor I; academic credits may apply
• Auditor III: 3 years of relevant full-time experience; same fields as Auditor I; academic credits may apply
• Licenses such as CPA, CIA, or CISA satisfy minimum requirements
• No sponsorship required; must be Texas resident or willing to relocate

• Strong analytical and numerical analysis abilities
• Clear and concise written communication
• Ability to train others and lead a monitoring team
• Attention to reading large amounts of material and interpreting regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
