Overview

In this role you help manage client relationships and credit products, partnering across relationship management, sales/trading, treasury, operations and risk. You lead credit decisions, structuring loans and negotiating terms with clients and legal partners, while ensuring regulatory and policy compliance. You will mentor teammates, potentially manage a team, and act as an escalation point for complex transactions. This position supports responsible growth by delivering high-quality credit solutions that balance client needs with risk and asset quality. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive funded loan growth and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with relationship management and product teams to assess client credit needs and design solutions
  • Lead loan structuring discussions and negotiate loan documentation with clients and legal partners
  • Drive credit approval processes for new originations, renewals, increases, and modifications
  • Oversee ongoing portfolio monitoring in line with regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Promote funded loan growth and revenue while maintaining asset quality and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as escalation point for complex credit transactions
  • Mentor associates and supervise junior teammates
  • Assess creditworthiness using due diligence, financial analysis, industry risk, and relationship profitability to support approvals
  • Exercise delegated approval authority for lending terms, risk ratings, and renewals
  • Lead new credit originations in collaboration with coverage teams and product partners
Key requirements
  • 5+ years corporate/commercial credit experience
  • Strong accounting and corporate finance understanding
  • Strong knowledge of legal credit agreements
  • Familiarity with ancillary bank products (treasury, cash management, derivatives)
  • Strong business writing skills
