Overview In this Project Engineer role, you will contribute to the design and construction of fish passage projects from Kleinschmidt's Maine or Strasburg, PA offices. You will integrate sound engineering with creative problem-solving to tackle unique challenges in fisheries engineering. You'll work on multidisciplinary teams, delivering structural and hydraulic analyses for fish passage facilities. Responsibilities- Perform structural design and hydraulic analysis for fish passage projects in a multi-disciplinary team
- Collaborate with civil, structural, hydraulics, geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Support design development, drawing production, and construction-phase deliverables
- Engage with regulators and biologists and participate in permitting processes
- Mentor and learn from senior engineers and contribute to client relationships
Key requirements- Licensed Professional Engineer (or commitment to licensure within a year)
- BS or BSc in engineering, with a minimum of 6 years' experience in fisheries engineering or related field
- Experience with fisheries engineering guidelines and hydraulic design principles (preferred)
- Ability to work on multi-discipline teams and perform structural design and/or hydraulic analysis
- Willingness to travel, valid driver's license, and permanent work authorization in the US (Canada as needed)
