Overview In this senior role, you lead cultural resources investigations for diverse clients in the western U.S., shaping NEPA analyses, studies, and permitting efforts. You manage a Southwest-based cultural resources team, drive business development, and ensure high-quality technical products through rigorous reviews. You'll represent the cultural resources strategy externally and contribute to growth in the southwestern market. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines field, office, and client-facing work to advance projects with impact.

Responsibilities- Serve as technical resource lead and principal investigator for complex cultural resource investigations across utilities, transportation, renewables, and local government
- Mentor and supervise staff and senior project managers; grow the regional cultural resources team
- Oversee program and financial management for key client programs, potentially multidisciplinary
- Ensure high-quality technical deliverables via quality and independent review protocols
- Lead business development and client relationship building; drive marketing efforts
- Guide proposal development including scope, budget, and schedule to client satisfaction
- Maintain external professional presence and expand client contacts
- Represent cultural resources strategy and growth in the southwestern market
Key requirements- Professional writing, problem solving, and communication skills
- Experience leading Phase I and II Cultural Resource Surveys in the southwest
- Proven experience determining eligibility for NRHP and California Register
- Permitting on state and federal lands in AZ and NM or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with NHPA Section 106 and 110 consultations and MOAs/Programmatic Agreements
- Knowledge of GIS/GPS and ability to direct map creation
- Registered Professional Archaeologist preferred
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to pass physical/drug screens before employment
- MS in cultural resources or archaeology; demonstrated regulatory expertise for large projects
- Minimum 10 years supervisory and consulting experience
- Experience with ethnographic research and Native American consultations
