Overview In this role you will lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for diverse building projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to meet client objectives. Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of building electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, controls, emergency power, fire alarm, low-voltage)
- Mentor junior engineers and designers; provide technical guidance
- Prepare and oversee calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents
- Perform load, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analyses
- Lead design efforts using Revit, AutoCAD, and other software
- Coordinate with architects, structural/mechanical/plumbing teams, owners, contractors, and stakeholders
- Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
- Participate in client meetings, proposals, and client relationship management
- Conduct site investigations, condition assessments, and construction observation
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, changes, and submittals for compliance
- Ensure designs meet codes, standards, and WSP quality procedures
- Practice ethical decision-making regarding resources and adhere to company's Code of Conduct
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program (or related building systems/construction fields)
- 5 to 7 years of relevant building electrical design experience in a consulting environment
- EIT certification
- Experience designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Strong knowledge of NEC, IBC, and related standards
- Experience preparing electrical construction documents and specifications
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
