Overview

In this role you will support SEI's business, data, operations, and procurement teams by negotiating, drafting, and managing a broad set of technology, data, software, and strategic vendor agreements. You will advise on data rights, AI, privacy, information security, and regulatory considerations within third-party relationships, helping SEI scale data-driven solutions while controlling risk. You will partner with cross-functional teams to advance data governance, data licensing, and digital transformation initiatives. This is a fast-paced, advisory role with a clear impact on SEI's data strategy and vendor ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, negotiate and review client and third-party service agreements (NDAs, professional services, outsourcing, software licenses, data licenses, development and strategic tech partnerships)
  • Lead complex negotiations across data licensing, market data, exchange/benchmark, index licensing, alternative data, SaaS/cloud, technology/software licensing, and strategic procurement
  • Advise on enterprise data acquisition/licensing, including internal use, client-facing use, redistribution, API/digital rights, derived data and analytics rights
  • Collaborate with Data Governance, Technology, Product, Operations, Compliance, Privacy and Information Security teams to implement data strategy and governance
  • Identify risks in vendor relationships and craft practical, business-focused solutions
  • Support digital transformation, AI, automation, and data strategy initiatives
  • Drive improvements to contracting processes, templates, playbooks, and legal operations
  • Coordinate with governance and risk teams to assess and mitigate third-party regulatory and contractual risks
Key requirements
  • Law degree and active bar membership in any U.S. state
  • 4-8 years' experience in complex commercial transactions including technology, software, data licensing, outsourcing or strategic vendor work
  • Strong understanding of technology development, software licensing, and financial services contracts
  • Familiarity with data governance, IP, information security and privacy concepts
  • Ability to assess legal risk and provide pragmatic business advice
  • Excellent negotiation, project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high-value transactions in a dynamic environment
