Overview In this role, you lead Artivion's enterprise infrastructure, overseeing strategy, operations, and governance for compute, storage, cloud, data center, and security. You will shape the infrastructure roadmap, ensure service reliability, and drive cost-aware execution aligned with business priorities. You'll manage cross-functional teams, guide architecture decisions, and communicate during critical events to executives. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership to strengthen resilience and security across the technology stack.
Responsibilities- Set multi-year strategy and operating model for enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, cloud, data center, and core services
- Design, implement, operate, and modernize infrastructure to meet availability, performance, scalability, recoverability, and security targets
- Establish governance for architecture decisions, standards, lifecycle management, service ownership, and production readiness
- Prioritize initiatives based on value, reliability, risk, regulatory needs, debt, and total cost of ownership
- Oversee day-to-day infrastructure operations: monitoring, incident response, change execution, service restoration, escalation
- Define and monitor operating metrics (availability, performance, capacity, incident trends, SLAs)
- Drive SOPs, runbooks, knowledge management, post-incident reviews, and continuous service improvement
- Align operations with ITSM and integrate with service desk, applications, cybersecurity, and business continuity
- Lead readiness for new systems, acquisitions, integrations, plant changes, and major initiatives
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and vendor/service costs management
- Oversee architecture, build, patching, performance, and lifecycle of physical, virtual, and cloud compute
- Direct storage and data platform architecture and operations (SAN/NAS/object, backup, replication, immutable storage, cloud storage)
- Guide disaster recovery, cyber recovery, and business continuity planning and testing
- Develop and coach infrastructure teams, establish governance rhythms, and report to executives
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 12-18 years of progressive infrastructure leadership experience
- 5-8 years of people leadership, including managers and distributed teams
- Proven experience owning budgets (capital and operating), forecasting, and cost optimization
- Track record building and operating on-prem, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure at scale
- Strong knowledge of server platforms, virtualization, storage, networking concepts, and core infrastructure services
- Experience in incident management, change coordination, runbooks, and continuous service improvement
- Ability to engage at strategic, architectural, and executive levels and manage high-severity incidents
