Overview In this role you lead multidisciplinary highway and streetscape projects in the NYC region, guiding design through PS&E and construction support. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and teams, while serving as the primary client contact and coordinating with agencies on standards compliance. Your expertise in NYSDOT design and design-build delivery will shape project outcomes and client relationships. You will mentor staff and contribute to business growth through proposals and scoping efforts.

Responsibilities- Lead highway, street reconstruction, and streetscape projects from concept to PS&E and construction support
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and subconsultants; forecast and report financials
- Direct QA/QC of design plans, estimates, specifications, and details
- Coordinate across drainage, utilities, traffic, structures, geotechnical, survey, ROW and stakeholders
- Serve as day-to-day client contact, lead progress meetings, resolve design issues, address agency comments
- Ensure designs comply with NYC DOT/DDC, NYSDOT, PANYNJ, AASHTO, ADA/PROWAG
- Support business development: proposals, interviews, scoping meetings, client relationships
- Mentor project engineers and designers toward licensure
- Possibly participate in client teams and become client manager
- Maintain awareness of design-build delivery requirements
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer in NY
- 12+ years in transportation with public agency capital project experience
- Direct responsibility for scope, schedule, and budget on projects
- Experience with NYSDOT, Port Authority of NY/NJ, or similar agencies
- Proficiency in design standards (NYCDOT/DDC, NYSDOT Highway Design Manual, AASHTO, MUTCD, PROWAG)
- Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to present to agencies and stakeholders
- Design-build experience
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
