Overview

As the GMS Business Security Leader, you drive security and risk management across all GMS operations, acting as the primary security liaison for leadership, staff, and partners. You oversee security programs, incident readiness, and partnerships with law enforcement to ensure consistent standards and preparedness. You'll lead cross functional collaboration to protect people and assets while aligning with enterprise safety objectives. This role offers an opportunity to shape security posture at scale and influence across multiple markets.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for all GMS security activities aligned with Enterprise Safety & Security
  • Oversee security operations across GMS offices and properties, including guard services, access control, and incident management
  • Ensure effective communication and compliance with security SOPs and standards
  • Direct security training, drills, and exercises to maintain readiness and align with threat landscapes
  • Review and enhance incident management and extreme-weather preparedness policies
  • Develop scenario-based exercises to validate plans and identify improvements
  • Monitor national and international events to identify risks and advise leadership on implications
  • Provide guidance on travel and event risk within corporate programs
  • Conduct security audits and support integration of security practices in acquisitions
  • Assess and recommend staffing and equipment to strengthen security posture
  • Build relationships with local law enforcement and public security authorities
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to ensure cohesive security performance
  • Provide guidance on security vendor selection, system installation, and technology updates
  • Ensure accurate incident reporting via Origami and enable data-driven action
  • Support data tracking and annual performance metrics for security
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant security or risk management experience
  • Strategic thinker with leadership experience across distributed or remote environments
  • Strong knowledge of security operations: access control, CCTV, intrusion detection
  • Familiarity with public safety regulations and interfacing with law enforcement
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and execution capabilities
  • Ability to work across cultures and time zones; willingness to travel extensively
