Overview In this role you support the Spacecraft Propulsion Subsystem (SPS) design, integration and test within the Space and Launch division. You will review requirements, advise on SPS aspects for new satellite programs, and coordinate with bus, subsystem, and leadership stakeholders. You'll assess contractor efforts, manage risks, and contribute to readiness for manufacturing, testing, and launch activities. This is a technically focused position in a mission-driven environment where propulsion expertise shapes spacecraft performance and reliability.
Responsibilities- Support SPS design, integration and test activities
- Review and coordinate changes to SPS specifications and system requirements
- Provide expert SPS analysis for new satellite developments
- Coordinate with bus development POC and subsystem leads
- Evaluate SPS work in contractor Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Identify and assess risks; develop burn-down plans
- Review prime contractor readiness for manufacturing and test
- Support launch base fueling operations and on-orbit test efforts
- Attend milestone and design reviews to advise on criteria satisfaction
- Engage with prime contractors and SMEs to build technical relationships
Key requirements- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 14+ years of professional experience (or equivalent)
- Experience in design & integration of satellite buses
- Thorough knowledge of Spacecraft Propulsion Subsystem (SPS) including propulsion tanks, thrusters (monopropellant and bipropellant), and plumbing
