Overview Senior Automation Engineer at Lilly Medicine Foundry, driving advanced manufacturing and GMP-compliant process control. You will mentor the process control team, lead design and commissioning activities, and ensure reliable, validated automation systems across lab, analytical, and manufacturing domains. This role supports scalable, right-first-time startup and ongoing operations, shaping a new organization within a leading biopharma environment. Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and mentorship for process control teams
- Lead design reviews, specifications, and FATs for DCS/PLC software
- Own site-wide administration of Laboratory and Analytical equipment and data integration
- Collaborate on ERP/ELN/LIMS integration and process control strategy development
- Lead commissioning and qualification efforts for automation systems
- Develop and manage Automation Engineering Project Plans
- Maintain validated state of control systems and ensure GMP compliance
- Support capital projects and new product introductions with automation solutions
Key requirements- 8+ years in Biopharma automation/engineering
- B.S. in Engineering or Science
- Experience with DeltaV, Rockwell PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES, LIMS, LabVantage
- Experience with analytical systems (UHPLC, mass spectrometry, etc.) and lab equipment
- Knowledge of GMP and computer system validation
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills
