Overview As a Senior HV Underground Transmission Line Engineer, you will oversee technical design and execution of high-voltage underground, submarine cable, and HVDC projects from 69kV to 500kV. You'll guide engineering teams across programs or multiple client projects, ensuring quality and alignment with technical standards. You'll partner with managers to plan execution, mentor engineers, and drive risk and change management. This role offers impact across grid transformation initiatives and a chance to shape HDR's capabilities in a growing power market. Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and monitor technical underground transmission engineering for programs or multiple clients
- Develop and implement project execution and quality plans with regular audits
- Ensure teams follow client standards and are trained on implementations
- Coordinate with program/project managers on technical matters and resource needs
- Mentor Engineering Managers on technical design and risk/quality/schedule management
- Lead multiple projects concurrently across locations and teams
- Contribute to technical papers or presentations for industry events
- Lead hiring and growth strategy for HV underground, submarine cable, and HVDC design
- Participate in project reviews as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor in Engineering
- PE license
- Minimum 10 years of experience in underground, submarine cable, HVDC design (69kV-500kV)
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Proficient in MS Office and design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit)
- Active involvement in an employee-owned culture
