Overview In this role you will design, build, and optimize electrical test systems and automated manufacturing equipment for end-of-line testing. You will work closely with design, quality, and production teams to ensure testability, reliability, and manufacturability while supporting new product introductions and sustained production. You will apply hands-on wiring, panel assembly, and system integration skills to deliver robust test stations and automation cells, leveraging LabVIEW and NI hardware where applicable. This is a collaborative, impact-driven position at Williams Controls, with a focus on reducing cycle times and improving yields.

Responsibilities- Support development and integration of EOL testers and automation systems
- Assemble and wire electrical test equipment including harnesses, panels, fixtures, and perform system checkouts
- Develop and maintain LabVIEW-based test applications and integrate NI hardware (DAQ, cDAQ, cRIO)
- Assist with automation integration, including PLC interfaces, robot I/O, and vision checks
- Troubleshoot electrical, software, instrumentation, and electromechanical issues to ensure high uptime
- Conduct continuous improvement activities such as cycle-time reduction and first-pass yield improvements
- Create and update documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, work instructions, validation records)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, production, and maintenance for new product introductions and sustained production
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering field
- 3-5+ years in manufacturing test, electrical validation, or automation engineering in a production environment
- Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting test equipment (wiring, harnessing, panels, instrumentation)
- Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems and industrial robots from a hardware integration perspective
- LabVIEW/NI platforms exposure is a plus (I/O mapping or minor edits)
- Ability to read and author electrical schematics, and create wiring diagrams and fixture documentation
- Practical knowledge of ESD, electrical safety, and machine guarding principles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; effective cross-functional alignment and mentoring
