Senior Sustainability Engineer

Overview

In this role, you drive sustainable product innovation to lower environmental impact across SharkNinja's portfolio. You'll work closely with Engineering and Product Development to test and validate energy-efficient solutions and materials. You'll identify low-carbon opportunities, prototype, and scale concepts that deliver measurable environmental benefits. This hands-on position offers cross-functional collaboration and room to shape how we build greener products at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Identify lower-impact opportunities for consumer products and validate solutions through hands-on design and testing
  • Explore commercially available and next-gen technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprint
  • Collaborate daily with Engineering and Product Development to map systems, environmental levers, and tradeoffs
  • Coordinate with teammates from other disciplines to develop proofs-of-concept and rigorous tests
  • Mentor and guide co-ops and interns
  • Help bring the team's sustainable products to shelves and channels with a reduced carbon footprint
Key requirements
  • BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years in design and development
  • Track record of bringing energy-efficient, environmentally responsible technologies to market
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving drive
  • Clear communication translating data into design implications for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Awareness of global eco-legislation for consumer products and future-proofing designs
  • Lab experience with controlled experiments and test equipment
  • CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Excel, Python, or MATLAB to analyze test data
