Overview As a Mechanical Engineer at HNTB, you will lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection on complex projects, guiding the team from concept to construction close-out. You'll coordinate design development, perform analyses, and communicate results to clients and colleagues. Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design efforts from concept to construction close-out
- Coordinate design development and provide technical direction to project team
- Complete mechanical designs with minimal direction
- Write technical reports and present findings
- Represent the team to clients in meetings and presentations
- Identify and analyze design issues, run alternatives and life-cycle analyses
- Coordinate preparation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire life safety design details
- Perform load analysis and duct design for HVAC systems with code compliance
- Conduct hydraulic analyses for piping systems
- Prepare process and instrumentation diagrams and control sequences for pumping and ventilation systems
- Perform design reviews and QA/QC
- Oversee scope, schedule, and budget adherence on complex projects
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members
- Coordinate with clients and teaming partners on multi-disciplinary projects
- Lead discipline delivery on larger projects
Key requirements- Professional Engineering license (PE) in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam
