Overview As Cost Engineer Manager, you will lead cost modeling and analysis within the Cost Engineering team, shaping cost strategies for future products. You'll partner with Lead Category Managers to build roadmaps and drive cost savings across supplier negotiations. Your work focuses on estimating costs, identifying drivers, and delivering fact-based insights to enable competitive pricing. This role connects engineering, sourcing, and design for manufacturability to enable cost-driven decisions at scale. You will mentor a team, develop training, and advance cost modeling capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities- Collaborate with Lead Category Managers to create cost roadmaps for future product lines
- Execute and govern SBD cost modeling methods and outputs
- Identify cost savings opportunities and advise on supplier negotiation strategies
- Support development of negotiation decks with data-driven arguments
- Lead team participation in VAVE events as a core competency
- Drive continuous improvements in costing of sourced products/components and share results with Sourcing
- Train stakeholders on should-cost methodology and cost modeling concepts
- Utilize tools like apriori, DFMA, Cleansheet to develop cost models and analytics
- Develop training modules to educate leaders and GSM team on cost modeling
- Lead and upskill the cost engineering team
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years engineering experience in manufacturing/design of mechanical products
- Experience in Global Supply Management environment
- Lean and quality experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies (machining, injection molding, packaging, etc.)
- Cost estimating knowledge and ability to identify cost drivers
- Ability to work with multiple data sources and develop cost options
- Experience with CAD and PLM software
- Knowledge of supplier markets and ability to challenge costs
