Principal Air Quality Engineer

As Principal Air Quality Engineer, you will lead Gulf Coast air quality projects and help grow Arcadis' Gulf Coast practice within the ISC team. You'll apply federal and state regulations to permitting, compliance, emissions inventories, and sustainability reporting, while mentoring staff and supporting client proposals. This hybrid role blends office work, client sites, and remote collaboration to deliver high-impact air quality solutions. You will engage cross-functionally to advance EHS services and drive innovation.

• Lead Gulf Coast air quality projects including permits-by-rule, minor NSR, Title V, PSD, and non-attainment NSR
• Develop regulatory strategy and applicability analyses for air permitting and compliance
• Create emissions inventories and support greenhouse gas reporting and sustainability reporting
• Perform air dispersion modeling and compliance auditing (EPCRA)
• Support sales and proposals through client meetings and technical project delivery
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with the air team to ensure quality and knowledge transfer
• Manage project teams to deliver on-time, on-budget results
• Travel up to 10-25% for project/client needs (overnight trips)
• Engage with North American Air Quality and Noise Community of Practice Leaders to grow the Gulf Coast practice
• Participate in broader ISC environmental compliance projects across industries

• 15+ years of experience in air quality engineering
• Bachelor in Chemical Engineering (or related engineering field); Master's preferred
• PE registration in Texas and/or Louisiana
• Gulf Coast Chemical and Oil & Gas air quality experience
• Strong knowledge of Federal and State air quality regulations (TX/LA focus)
• Experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
