Overview As Account Manager - Engineered Resins, you drive revenue growth by managing large resin producer accounts and coordinating with internal teams. You combine engineering insight with relationship-building to deliver value-driven solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. You will identify opportunities, guide material selections, and support processing optimization while collaborating with R&D, technical service, and operations. This role offers impact through proactive engagement, cross-functional teamwork, and target-driven commercial performance.
Responsibilities- Maintain active customer relationships through in-person, phone, email, and virtual meetings
- Develop deep, multi-layered relationships with customers
- Meet commercial KPIs including volume growth, pricing actions, and on-time payments
- Recommend solutions based on customer needs and feedback
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and internal teams to pursue leads and campaigns
- Manage CRM data and respond promptly to inquiries
- Identify sales opportunities in day-to-day interactions
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve customer experience
- Provide technical guidance and material recommendations based on applications
- Support material selection, processing optimization, and performance troubleshooting
- Translate customer needs into internal development or formulation direction
- Work closely with R&D, technical service, and operations teams
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Materials or Plastics Engineering or related Engineering discipline
- 5+ years in account management, business development, inside sales or technical sales in plastics/polymer/compounding/manufacturing
- Experience with CRM tools and managing a high volume of accounts (preferred)
- Clear and professional communication
- Strong relationship-building with a customer-first mindset
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Engineering background in plastics or materials science
- Knowledge of plastics materials, compounding, and processing technologies
- Technical guidance and formulation/product option recommendations
