Overview In this role you lead the Airframe Liaison Engineering team to advance composite-rich airframe solutions for GA-ASI platforms. You operate with limited direction, setting technical objectives and guiding design and verification efforts. You act as a bridge between engineering groups and production, ensuring compliant, well-documented solutions and timely updates. You also mentor staff, drive change management, and support on-site manufacturing and integration activities at Adelanto, with potential oversight at other sites. This is a hands-on leadership position shaping how we resolve complex aerostructure challenges.

Responsibilities- Lead a 4-5 person team of liaison engineers and design assurance specialists
- Create, investigate, and execute Change Requests (CR) and Change Notifications (CN) for composite drawings and specs
- Brief CR/CN outcomes to Change Control Board (CCB) stakeholders
- Serve as MRB engineer for nonconforming production parts
- Coordinate with Airframe Integrity Group, Material & Process, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Engineering and Quality Engineering to resolve issues
- Identify root causes of engineering/manufacturing problems and drive independent resolutions
- Clarify drawing intent on the production floor and support tactical department execution
- Mentor, develop, and train personnel; participate in planning and talent development
- Provide on-site support for Adelanto operations and oversee activities at other high desert facilities
- Participate in personnel attraction, selection, retention, and development to match business needs
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Communicate findings and present technical information as needed
Key requirements- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in engineering or related discipline with progressive engineering experience
- 9+ years with a Bachelor's, 7+ years with a Master's, or 4+ years with a PhD
- Thorough understanding of engineering concepts, codes, and theory with broad applicability
- Backgrounds in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace engineering desired
- Prior management experience leading a team in engineering or manufacturing
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings with emphasis on composite lamination and airframe integration
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and technical presentation skills
- Experience in aircraft development and composite manufacturing
- LEAN manufacturing knowledge desired
- GD&T ANSI Y-14.5M knowledge
- CREO Parametric/NX (or similar CAD) proficiency
- Basic project management knowledge
- Ability to work extended hours and handle diverse, complex problems
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance required
