Overview

In this role you support a premier Labor & Employment practice in California, focusing on wage-and-hour defense for sophisticated employers. You will collaborate with partners across CA offices to shape litigation strategy and manage complex disclosures and trial prep. The position offers high-level client engagement and exposure to cutting-edge wage-and-hour issues with opportunities to grow into trial work. Your work will drive outcomes in class actions while advancing the firm's reputation in a top-tier practice.

Responsibilities
  • Handle complex employment litigation, including wage & hour defenses and wage & hour class actions
  • Draft and refine pleadings, motions, and class certification briefs
  • Participate in trials and assist with trial preparation
  • Manage discovery including written discovery, document review, and deposition prep
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on evolving class action issues
  • Maintain clear, client-ready communication and provide practical guidance
Key requirements
  • JD from a top-tier law school
  • Active California Bar in good standing
  • 3-5 years of substantive employment litigation experience
  • Extensive experience defending wage & hour claims, including class actions
  • Strong legal research and writing skills producing high-quality work product
  • Experience drafting key legal documents and managing discovery
  • Desire for trial work
  • Ability to work in a team-focused, high-performance environment
