Overview

In this role, you will independently assess complex loan opportunities within PNC's Real Estate Banking group, shaping credit structures and risk assessments. You will serve as a subject matter expert, coach others, and drive credit decisions while ensuring regulatory and policy compliance. The role blends analytical rigor with client interaction to support portfolio growth and risk management. Responsibilities
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and apply elevated approval authority.
  • Prepare offerings for transactions across varying levels of complexity, including portfolio management.
  • Engage internal and external customers to gather information and clarify data.
  • Recommend and structure credit solutions; determine credit decisions as appropriate.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for select asset classes and coach/lead the team.
  • Analyze credit, collateral strength, and financial worthiness to prepare risk assessments and scorecards.
  • Conduct ongoing credit risk management for assigned portfolios when applicable.
  • Mentor underwriters, review others' work, and cover management as needed.
  • Identify and confirm all external regulatory requirements and ensure policy adherence.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-approval activities as relevant.
  • Maintain awareness of IRS Code sections and market research considerations in deal structuring.
  • Develop and deliver risk-informed recommendations or decisions.
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of industry-relevant experience
  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Knowledge of IRS Code Section 42 and 47, equity structures, market research, and external guidelines
  • Strong credit analysis and risk assessment capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions
