Sr. Mechanical Engineer (C)

Overview

In this role you drive the delivery of mechanical and plumbing utilities for buildings and process equipment, ensuring supply strategy and reliable utility provision. You will lead design, installation, commissioning, and running-in of major projects, including a new factory development. Expect substantial world-wide travel to project sites and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape utility systems and support sustainability through innovativeStone wool solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of mechanical, plumbing and fire protection utilities for major projects
  • Define supply strategy, dimensioning, and backup considerations for utilities
  • Coordinate design, installation, commissioning, and running-in activities
  • Ensure cross-departmental input (environment, safety, MMR) is integrated
  • Supervise suppliers/contractors and track orders for compliance
  • Maintain documentation/reports per company directives and Group Technology rules
  • Travel extensively for project execution and supplier visits
  • Oversee budgeting and tender material preparation for suppliers
  • Address utility scopes (compressed air, water, HVAC, fire safety, rainwater, etc.) and ensure fit-for-purpose installations
  • Adhere to code of conduct and company values for all tasks
Key requirements
  • 4+ years in a similar role with site installation, mechanical design, and design specifications
  • 3D modelling experience using Inventor or similar software
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally (60%) and extended site presence
  • Strong communication skills and confidentiality
  • Preference for candidates with craftsman expertise (smith, mechanic, etc.)
  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
