Overview In this role you help advance the FAA's Fire Life Safety program within the EOSH Services Group, contributing to code guidance, planning, and technical analyses for FAA facilities. You will work on CRA surveys, standards development, and program initiatives that protect people and facilities. The position offers remote work with significant travel to support central US locations. You'll engage cross-functional teams to shape FLS guidance and documentation, supporting FAA mission-critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Develop FLS code and standards analyses and guidance for FAA facilities
- Provide FLS guidance on FAA program initiatives and stakeholder needs
- Create technical guidance on design and construction issues and draft standard installation specifications
- Support FLS program planning, prioritization, and goals with cross-functional collaboration
- Author white papers, proposals, and analysis papers for FLS stakeholders
- Conduct comprehensive CRA surveys of FAA facilities (ATCT, TRACON, ARTCC, etc.) against codes and standards
- Evaluate human element programs related to OSHA Emergency Action Plans and Fire Prevention Plans
- Maintain an up-to-date CRA schedule with visits, locations, and status
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of exempt experience or Master's degree plus 2+ years of exempt experience
- Professional Engineer license or EIT
- Strong knowledge of ICC and NFPA codes
- Experience consulting on FLS programs and providing holistic guidance
- Ability to produce FLS designs and critique FLS installations
- Experience in training FLS concepts and code application
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Strong communication and collaboration
- Ability to coordinate with multiple sites and stakeholders
