Overview In this role you will lead a comprehensive fundraising program for Georgia Humanities, partnering with the President and board to grow support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government. You will shape multi-year strategies, manage donor cultivation across the state, and oversee grant writing and special event campaigns such as National History Day and Smithsonian Museum on Main Street. You will collaborate with program staff and Communications to advance impact and ensure compliant, data-driven fundraising operations. This position offers hybrid work with occasional on-site commitments in Atlanta and requires Georgia residence.
Responsibilities- Develop and lead annual and multi-year fundraising strategies to grow diverse support
- Set revenue goals with President and board and monitor progress
- Manage a development plan including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, and grants
- Advise leadership on fundraising priorities and readiness for campaigns
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospects across the state
- Grow the annual fund and mid-level giving through direct mail, email, and digital campaigns with the communications team
- Support President and board in donor cultivation and solicitation
- Research new funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government
- Write and manage grant proposals, LOIs, and funder reports with program staff
- Maintain relationships with funders and ensure grant compliance and reporting
- Cultivate corporate sponsors and partners for programs and events
- Lead fundraising for National History Day and Smithsonian Museum on Main Street
- Plan donor cultivation, recognition events, and giving campaigns
- Coordinate donor communications and event promotion with the communications team
- Maintain accurate donor records and gift tracking in the donor database
- Manage the development budget and track fundraising expenses
- Prepare regular fundraising reports for President and board
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit fundraising regulations and best practices
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of fundraising experience, or equivalent
- residency in the state of GA and ability to commute to Emory University on a hybrid schedule
