Overview

In this role you will support LIHTC fund underwriting and project management, acting as a liaison with syndicator partners and CIC loan officers. You will help manage relationships and coordinate closing processes, while developing financial analyses and risk mitigants. You'll present clear investment memoranda and contribute to CRA alignment and community impact. This is a partner-facing role with exposure to deal structuring, regulatory review, and cross-functional collaboration to scale LIHTC investments.

Responsibilities
  • Underwrite equity investments for LIHTC funds and manage relationships with syndicator partners
  • Serve as primary contact with the syndicator during underwriting and closing
  • Build financial models for upper-tier benefit schedules, property grids, and related analyses
  • Identify and describe risks and mitigants for transactions
  • Draft high-quality memorandums detailing deal structure, budgets, guarantor analysis, compliance, risks, and recommendations
  • Review and comment on fund documents including private placement memorandums and subscription documents
  • Own and track CRA investment goals and collaborate with Huntington CRA team
  • Coordinate with CIC Originations on loan strategy aligned with CRA goals
  • Act as a key contact with Credit for fund investments
  • Lead treasury management tracking for syndicator relationships
  • Demonstrate stewardship of Huntington's financial and community impact interests
  • Represent the bank at industry events and participate in policy discussions
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • 6+ years LIHTC experience
  • 4+ years LIHTC/CRE underwriting and closing experience
  • Tax credit syndications experience (preferred)
  • Technical knowledge of the LIHTC program
  • Advanced Excel modeling for debt and equity investments
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Proactive problem solving and solution-focused thinking
