Overview In this role you will own the technical vision for Crusoe's internal business systems, unifying finance, construction, and people platforms. You'll shape greenfield architecture, define master data and integration patterns, and establish governance to move from startup agility to enterprise maturity. You'll collaborate across IT, security, and AI teams to deliver scalable, secure, and AI-enabled enterprise solutions. Responsibilities- Lead greenfield system design and produce ERDs, context diagrams, data flows, and sequence diagrams as source-of-truth artifacts
- Assess platform limits and define roadmaps including when to optimize, re-platform, or build custom integrations
- Serve as primary technical evaluator in procurement, vetting API robustness, data-model flexibility, and security compliance
- Identify and document integration debt and create a prioritized modernization plan
- Participate in Architecture Review Board to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Define master data strategy and unified data models across platforms
- Co-develop reusable integration patterns and self-healing workflows with iPaaS owners
- Drive API-first, event-driven integration patterns to improve reliability and reduce latency
- Define secure API standards and authentication/communication models (OAuth 2.0, REST/SOAP)
- Partner with AI & Automation teams to embed AI into enterprise workflows and establish governance
- Establish governance and standards for naming, sandbox management, documentation, and change control
- Bridge business needs and technical execution to stakeholders; communicate trade-offs clearly
- Mentor/guide senior administrators on complex architectural decisions without formal management authority
- Ensure architectures support SOC2 and SOX and RBAC security without friction
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Finance, Construction, and People
Key requirements- 10-15+ years in Enterprise Systems or Solutions Architecture
- At least 5+ years in a Solution Architect or Lead Systems Engineer role
- Strong experience with ERP/Finance or Construction/Ops platforms (e.g., Oracle Fusion Cloud, Coupa, Sage Intacct, Procore, Oracle Primavera)
- Deep understanding of Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Hire-to-Retire processes
- Advanced SQL and fluency with web services (REST/SOAP, JSON, XML)
- Experience advising peers and leading design reviews without formal authority
- Ability to coach and guide senior colleagues indirectly
- Comfort making strategic calls under ambiguity and managing Crusoe-wide programs
- Onsite work capability in San Francisco or Denver
- Familiarity with security and governance considerations in integration (SOC2/SOX)
