Overview In this role you will lead body and closure programs, aligning schedule, cost, and attributes across internal and external partners. You will bridge high-level milestones with technical execution, balancing performance, manufacturability, and quality. You'll drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and robust design. You will lead root-cause analysis and mitigation plans to improve vehicle performance and production readiness. Responsibilities- Serve as the program and technical lead for Body (BIW, structures) & Closures (doors, mechanisms, glazing) across internal and external design teams
- Oversee BOM integrity and drive quality and cost engineering initiatives throughout the supply chain
- Develop program schedules and coordinate with suppliers, quality, procurement, service, manufacturing, and engineering to close complex issues and ensure on-time delivery
- Identify and communicate progress, challenges and risks; lead strategic mitigation plans
- Lead root-cause analysis and tracking of build/design issues to drive long-term engineering solutions
- Influence system designs to optimize performance, cost, quality, manufacturability, and serviceability via design reviews, DFMEAs, validation, and mock-builds
- Support the team as a design engineer using first-principles in Catia and 3DEXPERIENCE
Key requirements- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 6+ years automotive engineering experience focused on Body and Closures and technical project management
- Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6, PLM/BOM management, FMEA/FTA, structured root-cause analysis (8D, Fishbone)
- Experience with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Polarion, Gantt charts, ERP, PLM, ALM)
- Experience designing for crash, NVH, reliability, strength, and corrosion
- Track record managing complex cross-functional projects with external suppliers and contract manufacturers
- End-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across peers, suppliers, manufacturing, and executive management
