Overview

As a Civil/Structural Engineer III, you will design and analyze structural components, sketches, and models for moderately complex projects. You will collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure technical accuracy, safety, and on-time delivery. The role supports HSSE compliance and quality procedures while steering project workloads and budgets. You will apply your knowledge to develop design packages and oversee drawings for compliance. This position offers impact through design leadership on diverse, field-oriented projects in Houston.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare specifications detailing performance, component needs, design requirements, and vendor drawing requirements.
  • Create engineering sketches, perform calculations, and develop analysis models for moderately complex projects.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings for compliance with project specs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Manage project schedule and budget, and adhere to quality standards and procedures.
  • Comply with HSSE standards and regulations; participate in hazard identification and reporting.
  • Coordinate with drafting/design groups to review engineering drawings.
  • Visit job-sites and vendor facilities to evaluate requirements and verify compliance.
  • Prepare inquiries and purchase requisitions and bid tabulations for equipment.
  • Check engineering drawings and calculations; develop and approve design packages.
  • Assist in developing internal design guidelines and control procedures.
  • Promote safe design practices and seek cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage workload, budgets, and resources; seek assistance when needed.
  • Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge as assigned and adhere to PE sealing requirements.
Key requirements
  • PE license required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • Offshore experience required
  • SACS software experience required
  • STADD, MAT 3D, Foundation software experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of steel and concrete design preferred
  • Working knowledge of design codes (AISC, ACI, API, IBC) preferred
  • Field experience preferred
  • ABET accreditation for degree preferred
