Overview In this role you support the administrative operations of the inpatient Cardiac Acute Care unit, ensuring a positive patient experience by coordinating services for patients and families. You contribute to departmental and organizational initiatives with a focus on continuous process improvement and provide reliable clerical and customer service support. You will interact with diverse stakeholders and help streamline scheduling, communications, and urgent triage. Responsibilities- Patient Encounter Management: deliver positive customer service by phone to support unit operations
- Coordinate with referring providers and practices via phone
- Obtain required authorizations and assist with staff and patient scheduling
- Schedule patients and support patient encounters
- Administrative: record and forward messages; triage calls for urgent information or services; initiate calls for emergency services
- Provide routine clerical support as needed
Key requirements- High school education; bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication with empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
