Overview As Transit Design Manager (BRT) you will lead design efforts for Bus Rapid Transit projects within the US East/Mid-Atlantic region, guiding planning through final design and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. You'll work on diverse BRT initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders and supporting business development. The role blends project leadership with hands-on technical oversight to deliver safe, efficient transit infrastructure at scale. Responsibilities- Serve as team lead, project manager, or discipline lead on planning, preliminary, and final design of BRT projects; coordinate with cross-functional team members and support business development
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams to prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and visual aids for BRT infrastructure
- Prepare and review multimodal street design and participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables
- Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates; contribute to PS&E package across all design stages
- Prepare technical specification sections and perform quality control reviews of design calculations/drawings
- Contribute to engineering budgets and schedules to meet requirements; mentor entry-level engineers
- Work independently and with the team to deliver primary design elements for engineering works
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Professional Engineering license
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/PowerInRoads or Power Geopak or OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
- Roadway design experience
- Bus Rapid Transit and/or Light Rail Transit design experience
- US Citizenship
- Excellent communication and writing skills
