Overview In this role you will lead revenue-related accounting for construction activities, support external audits, and manage a small accounting team. You'll implement internal controls, document processes, and ensure GAAP and DCAA timelines are met. You will act as a subject matter expert on revenue recognition and guide management on new guidance impact. The position involves cross-functional collaboration on IT/business initiatives and process improvements within the Accounting Department.

Responsibilities- Lead year-end and preliminary audit schedules and footnote disclosures for revenue recognition accounting
- Manage accounting functions for Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Cash, and Compliance related items to support construction activities and meet deadlines
- Develop and enforce financial operations policies and internal controls
- Document accounting processes for GAAP compliance and DCAA reporting timelines
- Perform technical accounting research on revenue recognition and advise management on new guidance
- Supervise 1-2 accountants while contributing as an individual contributor
- Prepare/review monthly journal entries for construction transactions and consolidation
- Oversee setup/closeout of construction jobs and purge completed jobs in the system
- Collaborate with Accounting Director on project plans for IT/Business initiatives and department process improvements
- Lead/participate in cross-functional teams for Master Data, GL, and Cash/AP initiatives
- Document end-user requirements and train users on new tools for automation and high-volume data entry
- Identify areas to streamline reporting for internal and external customers
- Provide accounting and financial reporting support for new business lines
- Support department initiatives as assigned
Key requirements- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance with at least 4 years of related experience; CPA preferred
- Familiarity with GAAP and internal controls
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience leading cross-functional project initiatives and stakeholder relationships
- Experience with Hyperion and Oracle is a plus
