Overview As a Power Engineer at HDR, you will lead the power design team through schematic design to contract documents, ensuring code compliance and on-time delivery. You'll collaborate across disciplines on site visits, specifications, and RFI/CO processes, while supporting construction administration and QA/QC. Your work helps shape power projects that support communities and HDR's mission of making a global impact. Responsibilities- Coordinate the power design team through schematic design development and contract document phases
- Lead reviews and meetings with governing agencies to ensure code compliance
- Manage workload to meet deliverables on schedule
- Conduct on-site work sessions with the Project Manager and other disciplines
- Review project documents for cross-disciplinary conflicts
- Write and edit project specifications
- Coordinate with disciplines on addenda, RFIs, COs, and incorporate changes
- Provide construction contract administration as needed
- Perform QA/QC on the work of team members and BIM technicians
- Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in the Power Market Sector
- Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the local licensing board
- Extensive project execution experience in the power sector
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and power market design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit)
- Experience with SCADA engineering and with an engineering consulting firm
