Overview As DC Area Supervisor, you lead a 20-30 person hourly team to run the distribution center efficiently, safely, and productively. You drive process adherence, coaching, and development of associates, and you own hiring, performance, and disciplinary activities. You'll monitor metrics, manage staffing against plans, and partner with leadership to implement improvements. This role offers hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, metrics-driven distribution environment with a clear impact on store and supply chain outcomes.
Responsibilities- Manage process adherence and suggest improvements to operations leadership
- Coach, train, and evaluate hourly associates; handle hiring, development, discipline, and terminations
- Analyze and optimize work methods to reduce inefficiencies and improve productivity
- Maintain inventory accuracy and monitor key metrics (productivity, quality, expenses)
- Coordinate and monitor operations to align with business plans; plan staffing and optimize department operations
- Handle additional duties as assigned by leadership
- Supervise shifts or multiple work groups; contribute to selection and performance development decisions
- Oversee cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations
Key requirements- High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of experience, or equivalent
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a related field
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office; experience with Warehouse Management Systems
- Ability to relocate and flexibility to work various shifts
- Legal ability to work in the United States
- Overnight travel less than 10%
