Overview In this role you will lead commercial negotiations and manage end-to-end contracting for Scale Microgrids' deals. You will structure terms to balance customer needs with risk, coordinate across business development and project management, and support diligence for acquisitions. The position sits in a fast-growing, private equity-backed energy company focused on turnkey microgrid solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize templates and ensure timely execution and compliance. This is a hands-on, impact-driven role at scale.

Responsibilities- Lead customer-facing commercial negotiations using playbooks and structure deal terms
- Manage end-to-end contracting process from structuring to post-execution administration
- Maintain and improve standard form agreements and risk allocations
- Support commercialization and standardization of new products
- Prepare standard and customized agreements for customers, partners, and vendors
- Analyze third-party paper against standard positions to resolve inconsistencies
- Balance issue resolution with escalation to legal when needed
- Build familiarity with project cost models and deal economics for scope and risk
- Manage the contracts database including budgets, deadlines, obligations, and renewals
- Support project management and business development in clearing conditions and ensuring compliance
- Coordinate signature collection and ensure conditions precedent are met
- Ensure company-wide compliance with internal approval processes
- Oversee legal/regulatory due diligence for energy project transactions
Key requirements- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong deal-structuring instincts and experience leading negotiations
- Excellent contract drafting acumen
- Detail- and process-oriented with experience improving workflows
- Experience with commercial agreements in energy, real estate, or related industries preferred
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial, thrives in fast-paced environments
- Ability to work cross-functionally with legal, finance, and management
- Paralegal/JD background is a plus but commercial focus is prioritized
- Comfort with cost models and deal economics without requiring a finance background
- Experience with power purchase agreements, energy services agreements, leases, or similar agreements preferred
