Transit Design Manager - Bus Rapid Transit

Overview

In this role you will lead Bus Rapid Transit design efforts, shaping transit-focused projects within a global infrastructure team. You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, manage design deliverables, and support business development across national projects. You'll apply your technical and leadership skills to deliver safe, cost-conscious BRT solutions that advance the company's transit portfolio. This position offers hybrid work from East Coast offices and impact across communities through better urban mobility. Responsibilities
  • Lead project design and coordination for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects and act as discipline lead when needed
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and visual aids for BRT infrastructure
  • Review multimodal street design and conduct interdisciplinary deliverable reviews
  • Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates
  • Prepare technical specification sections and ensure PS&E package completeness
  • Perform quality control on design calculations and drawings
  • Contribute to engineering budget and schedule planning and tracking
  • Mentor entry-level engineers and coordinate tasks with team members
  • Work independently and with the team to complete primary design elements
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 8 Years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation/PowerInRoads or PowerGeoPak or OpenRoads Designer
  • Roadway design experience
  • Bus Rapid Transit and/or Light Rail Transit design experience
  • US Citizenship
