Overview

In this role you will design, develop, and support data center racks, enclosures, and infrastructure products. You will translate requirements from customers and manufacturing into robust, manufacturable solutions working with cross-functional teams. You'll guide concepts through production release, balancing performance, cost, quality, and schedule. The position offers impact across product lifecycles and a chance to contribute to scalable, standards-driven designs within a global business.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical solutions for data center racks, enclosures, and related infrastructure products
  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings using Autodesk Inventor, with secondary support from Creo and Inventor
  • Translate requirements into robust designs balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, quality, compliance, and schedule
  • Support product lifecycle activities from concept to production release and ongoing support
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, develop solutions, and resolve technical issues
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, suppliers, operations, and quality to ensure manufacturability and alignment with objectives
  • Apply DFM, DFA, cost optimization, standardization, and product reuse to improve quality and efficiency
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation in ERP/PLM systems
  • Support prototype builds, validation, manufacturing implementation, and change management
  • Identify risks and implement solutions to support objectives and continuous improvement
Key requirements
  • 5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience in product design or related fields
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD; Autodesk Inventor required, Creo preferred
  • Experience with engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and ECRs
  • Working knowledge of ERP and PLM systems
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively
  • Experience with sheet metal design in enclosure/rack/telecom/tech infrastructure industries
