Overview As a Waste/Water Principal Engineer (Solution Architect), you define the technical vision for retrofit projects and lead cross-disciplinary delivery with external and internal stakeholders. You translate client needs into project goals, manage risk and contract alignment, and drive solutions that guarantee performance. You collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure feasible, high-quality outcomes within contractual boundaries. Responsibilities- Define the project technical vision/strategy and translate client needs into goals and requirements
- Lead technical direction across disciplines and manage risk via the project risk log
- Coordinate resource needs, deliverables, and design scope with core team and third-party engineers
- Develop and negotiate Design Professional Agreements with external engineers; manage relationships with technical resources, manufacturers, and contractors
- Align technical, financial, and contractual solutions; influence decision-making to guarantee contract performance
- Assist with issue resolution during final design, construction, and service phases within Schneider Electric commitments
- Represent the project in management reviews; ensure plausible process theory, energy savings, and verifiable performance
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure commissioning, operations, maintenance, and service plans deliver sustained performance
- Ensure scope of work and construction phasing are clear and aligned with contract scope and risk mitigation
- Support startup/commissioning and performance assurance to ensure smooth transition to operating systems
Key requirements- Bachelor or technical degree
- More than 5 years of equivalent experience in owning technical solutions from inception through development and sustainment in water treatment or wastewater facilities
- Wastewater marketplace experience
- Effective communication and project management skills
- Analytical thinker with strong systems engineering skills
- Strong customer-facing and project leadership abilities
- Good understanding of wastewater processes, electrical systems, and SCADA/instrumentation & control
- Ability to read and interpret multiple disciplines' drawings and documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
